Most Parents and Teachers in Oyo State are in a dilemma over the decision of the State Government to open schools on the 29th of June (for teachers) and the 6th of July, (for students) 2020.

This is coming amidst the ever increasing cases of covid-19 in the country, which stands at 23,298 confirmed cases (as at June 26,2020).

The Minister of State for Education, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has described the decision by the Oyo State Government to reopen schools as insensitive. Several others have also branded the plan by the Oyo State Government as "suicidal".

The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, said the state government would go ahead with the plan and that the government is ready to intervene in any school and salvage the situation should a teacher or pupil become symptomatic.

School Resumption: The Students are smiling As the FG Submit Guideline To NASS For Reopening Of School

No doubts this is the news that most Nigerian student have been long waiting for following the submission of precautions and steps for reopening of schools nationwide by the federal government to the national assembly (NASS) as reviewed by minister of state for education in the person of  Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

We all are aware of how long schools have been closed by the government in other to prevent and take measure to rapid spread of the covi-19 (corona virus) pandemic and ever then since student have been clamoring for when news like this will come in considering the reopening of worship centers.

Chukwuemeka stated that  the ministry have submit plans to the national assembly to reopen schools nationwide as he ponder more  on how the educational sector can be moved forward in this pandemic.

Chukwuemeka  said if the Senate has not called they would have gone to them on the matter of school resumption because they have already met with house of representative.

He said the documents are presented to them so that they can also have their say as major stakeholders.

The vice chairman Akon Eyakenyi  of the committee express his  concern that the academic calendar could be affected by public schools where no arrangement have been made to teach student at home considering their private schools counterpart.

The chairman expressed his  concern  towards the issue that even when the schools in the city have access to radio and television education what about those in the village.

The  part of the statement thus;

"If the government can give guidelines for reopening of churches and mosque, stakeholders in the educational sector could also hold a meeting with the government to agree on guideline for reopening of schools".

He said all they need to do is to come up with measures for both student and teachers that will ensure safety for both of them.

He further said that they can make it in such a way that not all schools will resume at once that's to say batch by batch so they will start with the final year student and then gradually.

He added that they will also design it in such a way that they will have number of student that will go to school both morning and afternoon section.

He concluded that the ministry have to be innovative at this critical time to save the educational sector because nobody knows how far this pandemic disease is going to last.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GIVES UPDATE ON THE RESUMPTION OF SCHOOLS.

A lot pressures has been layed on both State Governments and the Federal Government towards the issue on the reopening of schools in Nigeria.

Recall that schools has been closed since March this year, and till now, it's still closed.

Thus, being impatient, lots of parents and students have been speaking to the Government on the fact that schools should be reopened nationwide.

The Federal Government has earlier stated that schools will remain closed in the country until the country is able to curtail the spread of the virus.

Thus, it was stated that what is paramount to the Federal Government is the lives of citizens.

Regardless of the incessant spread of the virus, many are still keen on the reopening of schools in the country.

Although everyone is aware of the threat the virus is imposing on the lives of the citizens of this country, yet, many want the Federal Government to reopen schools.

However, the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, has advised that they should not yield to it.

In his speech, he explained that the country is not safe yet for schools to reopen, owing to the fact that the virus keeps spreading.

Currently, the number of confirmed cases in the country has been announced to be more than 20,000 today, and thus, it'll be more dangerous for schools to reopen in such situation.

The Minister thus explained that no State has been given the guidance to reopen schools yet in the country as it is still not safe to do so.

And thus, he appealed with parents and stakeholders across the country to bear with the Federal Government towards every movement that is being made towards the reopening of schools.

He explained that what the Federal Government is after is to guarantee the safety of the children.

OMG! A MAN RAPES GIRL AND KILLS HER ELDER BROTHER IN ZAMFARA

 In Zamfara the police have confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man, in the person of Aminu Bala, for allegedly raping and killing his elder brothers wife in Gusau.

The command spokesperson Mohammed Shehu,   was parading the suspect on Monday, said  that Bala had already confessed to the crime.

 According Shehu, he stated that  the suspect hailed from Damaga village of Maradun Local Government area of the state.

He said, the Tudun Wada Area Command, Gusau on June 15, at about 04.30 hours, received a distress call from Damba quarters of Gusau metropolis that the suspect had killed his brothers wife.

The police quickly rushed to the scene and discovered the victim, Hauwau Iliyasu in the pool of her own blood having suffered from multiple machete cuts.

She was then immediately taken  to the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau where she was certified dead by doctors.

The spokesman also said the police had reached out in contacting  the victims husband, Kabiru Bala via phone call.

He was not in the state, but told the police that the suspect had once threatened to kill the victim, he said.

Shehu said that the command was awaiting the arrival of the victims husband and his written statement which would form part of evidence before the suspect would be prosecuted in court.

Hauwau left behind two children including, a nine-month-old baby.

FG Gives Clue On School Resumption for WAEC, NECO and NABTEB Candidates

 A lot of people have been feeling uncomfortable and frustrated  about the total lockdown of schools, places of worship, businesses Nationwide. It is confirmed that the cases of this corona virus also know as Covid 19 in Nigeria is increasing so rapidly. Whereby new cases of the infected once are being confirmed.

Towards the rapid growth at which the virus is being spread,  the Federal Government had to take preventive measures by ordering for an immediate shut down of all schools in the country. So to prevent the students from been infected nor spreading the virus. 

After a several months past of observing the lockdown, the Federal Government has given a clue as to when schools will likely to resume nationwide. Therefore, giving the students hope for resumption.The Federal Government also revealed some ideas that are being considered for the 2020 WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB exams. 

 The Federal Government clues; 

The Federal government has given clue on how schools accross all states in the country might resume. Here are the six ( 6 ) clues the Federal government has given below:

1) He said the plan is to actually bring candidates taking the 2020 WAEC, NECO and NABTEB exams to resume first.

2) He said it might be possible after the interstate travel ban has been lifted because there is no way schools can resume if teachers can’t come.

3) He said that the Ministry is also trying to figure out how to bring the timetable for the WAEC, NECO, and NABTECB exams closer.

4) He said it will take about 6 weeks to conclude each of the exams.

5) He added that conducting the exam on Saturdays and Sundays is equally being considered.

6) He added that the government was also planning when to conduct the National Common Entrance Examination to get those in primary schools to move into secondary schools.

ASUU CONDITIONS BEFORE THE STRIKE IS PUT TO AN END

It's been about a week and three months since the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on a strike, the union has called out on the Federal Government to ensure the speedy conclusion of the renegotiation of 2009 ASUU-FGN agreement and other  issues.

The call was made on Tuesday by ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi in a bulletin.

The completion of the renegotiation of 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement, the union stressed, will birth new conditions of service, enhanced salaries for Nigerian academics and improved infrastructure for all public varsities.

The academic union, through, the Chairman University of Ibadan Chapter, Professor Ayo Akinwole clarified that the ongoing strike is hinged on getting revitalization fund and unpaid earned academic allowances.

He also added that it would ensure that the government sets up and conduct visitation to universities, address the proliferation of state universities and issues of governance in them.

Professor Ogunyemi noted that “efforts by agents of the government to derail the strike-through deflection of IPPIS contraption and denial of salaries had failed because the union was fighting a just cause”

The ASUU leader emphasize that his members had remained resolute to get a better working environment and conditions of service, despite unpaid salaries of thousands of academics by the Federal Government and payment of distorted and amputated salaries to thousands of ASUU members.

Federal Government finally Concludes on School Resumption For Final Year Students.

Towards the issue concerning the reopening of schools nationwide in Nigeria , the Federal Government has earnestly been looking into this issue thereby considering some set of people(students)to further ahead of the general resumption.

The resumption of schools in Nigeria has been giving the Federal Government a serious hard time.

Whereas for this reason the Federal Government has been contemplating on the most suitable and a comfortable implementation that can be declared before school finally resumes.

Even though the Federal Government has of yesterday, warned the states to dissuade from re-opening schools, because the Federal Ministry of Health warns that it would be unsafe to do so.

With this in mind, the FG issued the warning yesterday, which was announce through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 chairman and secretary to the Federal Government, Chairman Boss Mustapha during the daily briefing yesterday.

Also putting in mind, the insightful and collective advice of the Parents, Teachers and Doctor's association, who were concerned about the welfare of students, if resumption were to be approved early.

Making a final decision on school resumption, Federal Government has announced that all final year students, which includes Basic Six (6) students, Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3) students and Senior Secondary School 3 (SS 3) students, approved to resume back to school in preparation for their respective exams and ahead of the National resumption date.

Since other students who are not writing final exams still have a lot of time ahead of them, it was only essential that the final year students should resume and should be able to finish their respective final year examinations, while the Covid-19 pandemic is being battled in the country.

The Federal Government made this announcement, through the Minister of STAE of Education, Prof Emeka Nwajiuba, who said the Federal Government has approved all schools running international curriculum to write their final examination online.

Mr Emeka, made this announcement in a the briefing with the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 in Nigeria.

He further elaborated that this action of the Federal Government is due to some private schools, which are licensed to run foreign curriculum, and schools who hosts expatriates, diplomats and international students.

Therefore all final year students are to be rest assured that they will soon resume back to schools and write their final examinations, and the private schools who runs international curriculum can also proceed with the conduct of third term examinations.

The Minister ended by imploring all schools, that are capable of organizing online classes and lectures for their students, to so this in other to ensure a smooth calendar when school finally resumes nationwide.

SHOCKING! A KENYAN TRIBE WHERE THE MEN SUCKS WOMEN BREAST MORE THAN THEIR CHILDREN

A town called Butere in Kakamega Country in Kenya.This is a town with over 4,000 people that has been practicing a rather obscure custom that would have never come to the limelight had health officials not raised concern. This custom sees men competing with newborns for breast milk. Whereas, mothers feed their babies with one breast and leave the other for their husbands, local media Nairobi News reports. In the aspect of this practice, newborns babies are not allowed to suck the breast reserved for their fathers. According to their believe, its stated that “When a man sucks the breast of his wife who is lactating (breast feeding), the child should not breastfeed on the same breast. Or this will lead the death of the child. Which the Luhya cultural practices don’t allow this,” an 82-year-old man who refused to be identified was quoted by Nairobi News. Sucking has nothing to do with breast milk. For the men in the town, the custom has nothing to do with breast milk, but it is rather a way of preventing their wives and children from being cursed. While others said they suck their wives’ breast to ensure the romance remains even after childbirth. But health officials are earnestly worried about the effects on children and therefore, in 2014, Butere sub-county public health officer in the name of Mr Oliver Walutila started a campaign to put an end to the custom in the area.

OMG! :A TEACHER THAT ALWAYS EATS PUPIL'S MEAL

No doubts we all did had a lot of experience back then when we were in tertiary school. Where we all noticed different attitudes and actions of teachers towards the students. 

  Share some of your OMG moments.

Here's mine: I remember a day I caught a co-teacher eating from a pupil's lunchbox. I was like a deer caught on headlamps. She was dumbfounded and at the same time beseeching me already through her eyes (I could read that).

Here was a teacher I really didn't like because of her numerous flirtatious stories even retold and used as a singsong by students to their peers for listening pleasure. Second reason I didn't fancy her presence was an experience I witnessed between she and another co-staff which I wouldn't want to retell.
.
I was the Dean of Studies and also not sb who dances to the date-me-flirt tunes of co-workers so she felt she was done and dusted. How did I handle the matter?
.
I could never justify her actions but rather than reporting and she losing her job, I decided to ponder over what to do so I wouldn't let my bias preside over matters. I could have just queried and boom! she's gone..but I thought about thinking it over.
.
During this period I was still thinking it over, she came with the stereotypical 'woman-power' seductive approach to ensnare me for a fling or whatever the plans were (probably to shut my mouth).
.
Once she noticed I weren't a sort who shrunk bank from my principles and beliefs, she apologized and I had her document and sign never to repeat such.
Yeah, as for the food part, we entered into a contract where she signed. I also warned her against it as it was very bad.
.
I know it really didn't make a difference but I really didn't want it seem overlooked. Well, she was queried still and punishments given after she still went behind doors eating a well-garnished poisoned food by a parent. Craizily, the parent must have noticed.
.
Good for her the poison was not to kill but for unstoppable farting, vomiting and stooling.

What a world!

Government speaks on school resumption. Take note.

Owing to the sudden outbreak of this COVID-19 pandemice around the world, our daily activities mostly business industries and schools have been affected badly. Whereas, this have destroyed the plans a lot of people had for the future. Which a lot of people are ignorant of what to do, so today am sharing with you things you do, when you realize a page you paid for a service or goods is ghosting you:

1. Screenshot all previous chats across all messaging app (IG and WhatsApp or FB).

2. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

3. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text).

4. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text) copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

5. Go to any branch of the scam artist's bank (the bank the scammer uses), ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

6. If you can, print out all those chats with the scammer, and submit it.

While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK and copy CBN FRAUD DESK *(anticorruptionunit@cenbank.org).* this will ginger the bank to take it up fast.

What should you expect from this? The culprit/suspects account will be PLACED ON HOLD.

Meaning he/she cannot transfer or withdraw until they visit the bank, and when they do, the bank will contact the police and the suspect when proven guilty will sign a waiver allowing the bank to refund your money.
